How My Life Changed with Digital Products
3 years ago I started this business after MANY businesses starting + failing..
And I knew that I wanted to start with a membership.
Perhaps the moment I FIRST fell in love with digital products was that launch when I pulled up my Kajabi account and created $600 of recurring revenue through my monthly membership.
This membership would require me to create a music playlist, teach once a month live + bring healing affirmations and tools inside the portal to each client for $25/mo.
I realized I could create something ONCE + thus began the LOVE of passive income and digital product creation.
If I’m honest with you, the easiest part of the ENTIRE journey of my online coaching business has been the creation part. I’ve created over 7 large group programs, 2 years of masterminds and memberships, too many masterclass webinars to count, and countless upon countless content.
With SO much trial and error (I could probably write a book just on the “error” part) …
One thing remains true.
Digital products created financial freedom for my family.
In one year I went from $0 to $2000+ a month in monthly recurring revenue.
In two years I had a 6 figure business
In three years a multi 6 figure business
And… well, this is my fourth year (jury is still out😜)
Some of the most beautiful things have happened in my life through the creation of digital products:
✨ I’ve created the most amazing friendships with clients and other collaborators and coaches of my own
✨ I’ve healed about 20 lifetimes of trauma of being seen, selling, healing from past business failures + the sisterhood wound
✨ My husband was able to quit his FT job last January (almost 2 years ago) due to my consistent 10k+ months
✨ I’ve made over 50k in sales in one month (and it felt completely normal and natural)
✨ We’ve been able to travel for 6 months straight, homeschool our kids, work less than 15 hours a week, and live in our dream city
All because I said “hmm let’s try making a membership”
Actually, to be honest, I remember frequently the days when I kept trying to get to 3k/ mo and it felt SO hard… like all my effort was going into it…
And I LOVE that version of myself but...
Here are some things I would have told her:
- Charge more. Your products are amazing + you have been in business for much longer than you’re telling people. Let them in on the failures, they want to learn from your mistakes and won’t judge you for them.
- You’re afraid of your husband not working. Deep down you know that if he doesn’t work it’s going to feel like a lot of responsibility, and financial responsibility is something you never thought you want and/ or had. You’re afraid you’re going to think he’s boring + fall out of love. Spoiler alert: you won’t… you’ll just have more time together and to travel and you’ll both be substantially less grouchy. It’s a good move all around.
- Don’t hide the fact that you’re genius at structure + strategy AND healing and subconscious work. Feminine and masculine energetics and harmony (I think I would tell her to look that up bc she couldn’t have known those words then lol) are your JAM. You have a special way of working with creative and soulful people (mainly women) and creating a strategy and structure with them that is SO life giving. Include it all. Yes you’re good at both.
- Research dopamine addiction, bc you have it😂. The constant need for excitement actually shows up in the form of scarcity for you. The faster you start eating meat (stop being a vegan😅) and nourishing your body, your ADHD symptoms go away, you stop needing 24/7 dopamine hits ++ shockingly you learn to be okay with boring and the sooner this happens, the better
- Move to Sedona. It will feel scary as HELL to literally jump in that type of “status” + the amount you pay in rent. BUT you will jump to income heights you never would have dreamed of living in an RV bc it will force you to stretch to think like a millionaire as you live in a million dollar house, yes it’ll feel like death… you'll die and then come back to life
To think that only 5 years ago I was fighting for my life in a hospital bed while living with friends with my 2 kids and pregnant in their spare bedroom with a $1000 car someone donated to us bc we were so broke … and now I’m HERE😭
